Went to the awesome event Quiet Lightning last night, where a gaggle of killer writers lynched us with their words. It was a cool format--a writer would fly up and without introduction would launch into her piece, finish and make room for the next one. There were some genuinely impressive and funny people. I'm considering submitting a piece for the next event but I'm kinda sorta terrified that I won't be nearly as good. If you're uncomfortable telling a story without a piece of paper, you should submit your stuff to them, too. Their deadline is the 18th of this month and the next Quiet Lightning is Sept. 6.

Next Monday, I'm attending the Rumpus at the Make Out Room, 7pm sharp. That's ALWAYS a blast. You should mos def come meet me there. I'll be drinking the IPA.
